Notes

William married (1) Frances in 1884; and (2) Anjanett on 07 Dec 1913.
Frances (Wife #1) was enumerated on the 1910 US Federal Census, yet her headstone indicates she died before then on 09 Dec 1909. Clearly she was alive after 1909, but probably died soon after the census was taken (given that William remarried in 1913). Thus, we take her date of death as 09 Dec 1910.
We deduce the existence and birth sequence of two undocumented children (#1.6 and #1.11). They are based on the 1900 and 1910 censuses, which respectively state that Frances had 11 children (9 living) and 16 children (12 living).
There are several birth date discrepancies in the record for some of the individuals listed:
- Wife #1: Find A Grave = 21 Aug 1865; 1900 census = Jul 1865
- Child #1.7: Find A Grave = 12 Feb 1894; 1900 census = Jun 1894
- Child #1.8: Find A Grave = 10 Feb 1896; 1900 census = Feb 1896; SSDI = 10 Feb 1897
- Child #1.9: Find A Grave = 10 Dec 1898; 1900 census = Dec 1897
After William died, his widow (wife #2) remarried to William Ashton Sikes, Jr.
